A new year is upon us again and a fresh start is required, but it is also important to reflect back on the old year. I get the chance to relax, meditate, plan, reflect and enjoy life in my garden. I find this the perfect neutral zone, where without distractions, I get most of my thinking done.

The garden is beautiful, tranquil and pleasing. It is full of flowers, trees, shrubs, insects and birds. It is a perfect example, of the Lord’s creations. I often sit out on the lawn, with my dog and just observe all the beautiful things around me. Even after a hectic morning in town, or an upsetting incident, I find my composure in the garden and I then realize, how many things I have to be grateful for. 

This is the time for giving, for being happy and for reflection. A smile costs nothing, but it could mean a lot to someone else.

This is also the time to make new resolutions. I know we all make them each year and after a while we break them and then forget them, but let’s try really hard this year, to reach our goals, especially those of us who smoke!

You should also choose something that is easy to do, like doing a good deed every day, or being nicer, or wearing a smile. Hopefully we won’t fail with this type of resolution and it will make us feel better, within.

Anyway, I’d like to use this opportunity to wish all my readers and friends, a very happy and prosperous 2008. Thanks for your support and let’s make the new year mutually beneficial.
