Christmas celebrations, in African nations, is characterized by much outdoor activity, because the season occurs during a time, when the weather is pleasant. In fact, in Southern Africa, it is the height of summer. Using palm trees and participating in processions, are also characteristic features, of activities related to Christmas, in many parts of Africa.
Many of the celebrations in the United States, that are associated with Christmas, were traditions brought by German and English immigrants. Along with the well-known and practiced tradition, of a brightly decorated Christmas tree, other traditions brought by these immigrants include Advent calendars, Christmas greeting cards, gingerbread houses and gingerbread cookies.

Christmas In The United States And Canada
The tradition of Christmas trees, in America, came from German immigrants, who had settled in Pennsylvania. It is believed that the tradition of Christmas trees started in Germany, from as early as 700 A.D and was practiced by many Germans in the 1800s. It’s also since that period, that Christmas trees have been available for sale, in the United States.
If you live in a dry and arid climate, then your desert landscaping is going to take a little more planning, than some other parts of the country. Desert landscaping will have to work with a plan that includes only plants and trees, that can survive with much less water, than some other plants. There is no point in planting something, if it can not sustain itself afterwards. So take some time with your desert landscaping plan and make sure that you have done everything suited to the climate.
One of the most hazardous things, that can happen, to your plants, is bad weather. Many a garden has been demolished overnight, because of this phenomenon. And seemingly, there is nothing we can do to prevent it. Of course, if weather didn’t exist at all, then we wouldn’t have those nice sunny days, that are beneficial to the growth of our plants. But, then again, we wouldn’t have the tragic hailstorms, that tear down everything, we’ve worked for so many hours to grow.
There are many traditions and symbols that we associate with Christmas, including the Christmas tree, leaving cookies out for Santa Claus, and sending Christmas cards and Christmas presents. If you’re like most, you observe all of the traditions, which are sacred to your family, without a thought about where they originated, or why they became so popular in the first place.

Do You Know The Origin Of Christmas Traditions
Ah, to this day, I still remember my first gardening experience. It was such a disaster, that I didn’t think I would ever want to garden again. I almost decided to turn my casual hobby, into the most rage-inducing topic, you could possibly imagine and to use those hours on something else. But I’m so glad I didn’t.
It is only 2 weeks to Christmas! Decorations and trees should officially be put up 12 days before Christmas and be taken down 12 days after Christmas. That means you can get started with decorating on the 12th December and must take them all down on the 5th January. First, you are going to need a tree. .Before you select the perfect Christmas tree, consider a little planning, to make room for your special tree. After all, the kids will want to impress Santa.
Here are some wonderful plants you can grow in window boxes:
Biennials.
Canterbury-Bells. Choice biennial, with long-lasting bells in purple, lavender, blue, pink, and white. Worth the effort, even if they die after flowering. In the spring, garden centers offer budded specimens. For dramatic compositions, group several together. You can grow your own from seed sown in June or July.
