Just a little bit of news for you. This is a copy of the newsletter mailing I sent out to my lists last week. If you are not subscribed, or if you never read the mail, now is your chance.
It has been very cold here in South Africa the last few days and areas on the Natal South Coast have had very severe floods. This is extraordinary for this time of year and older people have been quoted as saying they have been the worst floods in living memory. The Drakensberg areas have been covered in snow. Temperatures here at home have dipped to around 15C in the day and about 4C at night.
Even though Eskom have vowed to stop the power cuts through “load shedding,” we have had power failures 3 times this last week, once for a whole 15 hours!
Last weekend was both the comrades Marathon and Father’s Day, so most folk enjoyed the long weekend, but our work is never done, so we worked while watching the Marathon on TV. Thank goodness for laptops! Its a pity really, because the route is only about 18 miles from our house.
Some readers say I don’t give them much in the way of gifts, tips, news and advice. They obviously don’t read my blog. When you first signed up, you were told you would receive daily mails and advised to keep reading the blog.
The link to my blog is at the end of each mail. You will find several hundred informative articles, links to our other sites, links to the course, several freebies and more.
Another wrote, saying he was expecting training and not mails selling something. He said he would not buy a single thing, until I had trained him?
Another unsubscribed because he thought he had signed up for a continuous stream of fr.ee templates and graphics? Please be sure of what you signup for. We all have to be vey clear what you can expect, so read first. People are so greedy for fr.ee stuff and then whinge and whine later.
Another chap threatened me. He said if I wasn’t going to show him how to make mo.ney, then I should remove him from my list. First, I do my best to bring you tools, tips and products to help you in your business, but only you can decide how to use them to make money and second, there is an unsubscribe link in every mail, so if you want to unsubscribe, it is really easy. This gives you an easy way out and complies with the anti spam regulatons.
I don’t like it when people unsubcribe, no marketer does, but it is better than being ignored and better than constant grumbling. Make the best of it and let’s all work together.
Several people have contacted me recently, asking for training and mentoring. Sorry folks, but I just don’t have the time.
Sally has asked for a plug, so I have given the link to her blog, as well as mine, so if you are keen on gardening, go visit her blog. She posts articles every day on gardening topics.
Actually while giving her a plug, I’d better do the same for Clinton, so go read his blog on fitness, health, bodybuilding, weightloss etc. His link is at the end of this article.
Some people, doing our email course on Internet Marketing, asked why they were not getting our daily mails. I thought they would be distracted and never mailed to them. Some were on more than one list, and liked the offers, so I have included them now.
It is my practice to send mails every day. I feel it is better than to send erratic mails. On Sundays and Holidays, I refrain from any business and give you some fr.ee gifts. I have had 2 complaints about mails on Sundays, but surely you wouldn’t refuse a gift?
Several others have thanked me and urged me to keep at informing them daily, of new products, designed to help them and their businesses, so I will keep going. Even if I’m only able to help a couple of subscribers, that makes it all worthwhile.
It is very difficult, if not impossible, to keep everybody happy, all the time, but I try. It takes hours and hours looking for suitable products, new tools, gifts etc. so please don’t just ignore and delete the mails, without even looking at them.
I hear all he time how distracting a mailbox full of mails become and this is a common reason to unsubscribe. I smile at this logic, because it is the best barometer of all. How can you ever be too busy to learn what others are doing? Especially if they are more successful than you. I subscribe to everybodys lists and receive at least 1200 mails a day.
I have a system for removing duplicates, then I skim over every one. Nothing is deleted without at least a cursory glance. I find it interesting to see who is doing what and what they are promoting and what is new. I See what type of salespages and websites they use. I learn a lot from them. Try it. See how they write, what they use as subject lines etc. It keeps me in touch with hundreds of marketers around the world and aware of any new trends.
That is how I find new things early, find new JVs and Giveaways before the crowds do, how I get to “know” other marketers. I know the names, where they live, what niche they are in, whether hey develop software or write books etc. I see new developments on their websites. It takes about an hour or two each day, but I consider it as research and development and more helpful than chatting to small fry. If you want to make friends, go to Facebook, if you want to hang out with the big boys, read their mails.
When I was in a normal business, I found a lot of business was done in the pub, especially making new contacts. Online this is through forums, groups, jvs and so on, so if you don’t mix, you will be stuck on your own, so before you unsubscribe from all lists and sit with a clean mailbox, think about this.
Some people asked if I could slip in a money making system every now and then. I think they remember my old site, where we reviewed and tested loads of them. I agreed to look a few over. Not quick mo.ney schemes, but solid systems, however Jennifer wrote and said I was sinking rather low, by getting into these and thought I should stick to IM products. I’m not sure what I should do now, but I think one every few weeks will do no harm.
Now, something quite exciting! The 2 main priorities of any internet marketer are List and Mo.ney. These are harder to do than most will have you believe. We all want the money, but that is dependent on the size of the list. I have come across a system that pays to build your list, and for my South African readers and those who can’t use PayPal, its good news, but more later.
I am trying it out first before I tell you, but suffice to say it looks very exciting!
An update on my recent warning about the affiliate rip off. I have been paid by most, but why is it necessary to threaten to expose them, before they pay out? It is wrong, so be aware. I will still be covering this more officially, at a later date.
Several people, especially those outside of US and UK, have found that they are having problems with PayPal. I have written screeds on this subject. Most affiliate programs use PayPal. I have suggested alternatives, like AlertPay, MobilCash, Clickbank etc. so try them.
Has anyone else noticed how sales have dropped off, or is it just me? Maybe its the weaker Dollar and the price of fuel, but I have seen a distict drop in sales lately.
For reading this long mail, I suppose a gift would be in order. How about a product, to do with article marketing and list building? Oh ok, I’ll give you the rights and the resell website as well.
